Maxwell Bottle Drive Raises $2000

Written By: Erika Sanderson and Mike Brattland

On Saturday, April 6, MaxWell Devonshire Realty held a bottle drive to support the RCF, aiming to raise funds and positively impact the community. This event, spearheaded by Alex Ward, the broker-owner, highlighted the value of community engagement and teamwork.

The bottle drive was hosted out of the Sherwood Park location. It served as a perfect avenue for strengthening bonds within the community by bringing together neighbours, clients and colleagues. It provided a platform for social interaction, collaboration, and exchanging ideas, fostering a sense of unity and mutual support. Through this initiative, the realty team was able to engage with many community members who eagerly contributed their recyclable bottles.

The generous donations raised essential funds for RCF and showcased the power of individuals coming together to support a shared goal! Giving back to the community through charity is essential for fostering a sense of responsibility and connection to the places we live and work. It allows individuals and organizations to contribute to the well-being and improvement of their community, addressing local needs and challenges.

We sat down with Alex Ward to get some insight into why he chose RCF as the beneficiary of this initiative.

"As part of the evolution of the Brokerage, giving back is the next step in the vision for us. We understand the value that the Foundation brings to the community we serve. I believe RCF is an important Foundation that focuses on an area of great need within our communities and we’re happy to support. Thanks to Mike Brattland, Erika Sanderson and Danny Wong who were the leads for this. There were many others that volunteered and supported the fundraiser on the day of and leading up to the date. We enjoy working with the RCF so much that MaxWell Brokerages will be sponsoring a food hole at the Golf Fore Charity Tournament on July 18th. We also plan for this Bottle Drive to be an annual fundraiser for us and be our Brokerage’s main focus for RCF support. In addition; we encourage our associates in giving to the Foundation regularly via We Care."

Overall, the bottle drive was a huge success, raising $771—topped up to $1000 by Alex! In addition, Maxwell Realty graciously matched the donation by $1000, totalling a grand total of $2000!

We truly look forward to next year’s event.
