APPLY FOR FUNDING

The REALTORS® Community Foundation is proud to have a bi-annual funding cycle and a separate RFP Process for Flagship Charities.

The Spring and Fall funding cycles offer funding up to $10,000 and are open at the following times:

  • Spring Applications: Open from January 15 to March 15 with the funds issued in May

  • Fall Applications: Open from September 1 to October 15 with the funds issued in December

Our Flagship Funding offers a three-year pledge to three* new charities annually in the total amount of $60,000. The hope of this funding is to benefit charities and their community by providing more reliable funding for long-term goals to enhance the sustainability of programs. The REALTORS® Community Foundation is unique in that it is a local grassroots charity itself, and we take pride in being able to really connect with the charities we fund and celebrate the outcomes of their essential projects. It is the intention that through the Flagship Program, the relationship between REALTORS® and charities will be strengthened through increased communication of outcomes, in-kind campaign needs, and volunteer opportunities.

The RFP for Flagship Funding is open from November to February and will be issued in April.

SPRING FUNDING IS NOW CLOSED.

Funding Pilars

  • Housing

If there’s anybody that recognizes the importance of housing, it’s REALTORS®. We proudly support charities in providing safe and accessible shelter for those in various intersections of need. Housing eligible applications include domestic violence shelters, accommodated recovery programs, accessibility improvements to units or shelter facilities, construction/operating costs/repairs of affordable housing units, accommodations for people traveling for health treatment, and homeless shelters.

  • Community Grants

REALTORS® strive to contribute to the communities that we work, serve, play and live in. Community grants promote inclusive communities where information, activities, basic needs (including food security) and/or environments are sensible, accessible, and usable for as many people as possible. Community grant projects shall respond to conditions of inaccessibility by providing equitable opportunities for all regardless of a person’s abilities or circumstances.

Adjudication Criteria & Process

Our Funding Allocations committee considers a variety of factors when scoring and deliberating funding applications. Each application is scored quantitatively in the five categories listed below by all committee members, generating a combined score. The committee then meets to discuss each eligible application, guided by the combined score and also considering elements such as recognition and stewardship.

  • Capacity to complete - meaning the likelihood that with the funding, the organization will be able to complete the project on time and as presented with the RCF’s funds.

  • Finances - if the charity is in good financial standing, the provided budget appears to be sound, consideration of percent administrative costs, alternative funding sources, size of the organization and how the requested funds feasibly will impact the charity and its clients.

  • Alignment - how strongly the application addresses the RCF’s funding pillars

  • Project - evaluation of the desired outcomes and how strongly the project/program relates to and advances the organization's mission and the community.

  • Impact - the potential return on investment of the grant on the clients of the organization and the community.

We know every application has tremendous merit and volunteer committee members spend a large amount of time thoughtfully reviewing every single one. We appreciate the time and effort charities take to complete applications, but unfortunately, not all applications can be funded.

Please note that receiving funding in the Spring or Fall cycle may be considered in deliberations but does not preclude your organization from applying again in the alternate season or for applying for flagship funding.
