The REALTORS® Community Foundation is proud of the relationships it builds with many of its grant recipients. These relationships have been built over the years through strong stewardship, volunteering at charities, and a thoughtful passing of the baton from boards and staff to their successors. We have learned from conversations with our charities that longer term funding can add great value to the grassroots charities we support. For example, they might be able to secure government matching grants or the funds from other donors with such a vote of confidence. In terms of their clients, they are able to plan ahead for programming, knowing their funds will allow them to facilitate and evaluate full cycles for continued growth; plus they can offer more stability in offerings to their clients with programs that gain traction rather than being 'up in the air' year-after-year.
The 2020 Funding Application will include a section for charities to include more information about how they might use funds and plan ahead if given the opportunity to be a flagship charity. For the first round, the Board of Governors selected, three funding recipients whose impact on the community has been significant and whose stewardship of funds has been historically excellent. REALTORS® and friends can expect to see increased partnerships with the flagship charities as life returns to 'normal' including volunteer days, facility tours and hopefully some other fun still to be dreamed up!
