Welcome to 2021! We would like to say thank you to our retiring Governors, Sharon Gregresh and Kayla Glesman while we welcome our new Governors (Wendy Theberge, Cheryl Larsen, Starla O'Neal, Brenda Dubilowski, and Melinda Chisholm) and 2021 President, Nicole Mackoway. Keep reading for a greeting from our new President:
Opening the first page of a new calendar is the best “fresh start” feeling. The REALTORS® Community Foundation was thrilled this year to be able, with the generous support of North 49 Home Inspections, to produce our first calendar highlighting some of the charities we supported last year (email firstname.lastname@example.org for your copy(ies)!). Looking at our agendas, I hope in the weeks and months ahead we will once again be able to fill them with in-person meetings and events, and how excited will we all be when that day comes!
I think we are all feeling a sense of anticipation and hope for what is to come in 2021, eager for new opportunities and adventure. Serving in the role of President for 2021, this is exactly the sentiment I am feeling and hoping to apply to my time in the role. Charities have historically relied heavily on in person events to fuel exciting opportunities to participate in 50/50’s, raffles, and auctions. But with adversity comes innovation, and I’m so proud of the REALTORS® Community Foundation's ability to adapt and continue to provide funding to local Edmonton Charities. I love to see how much REALTORS® can do when they work together to provide for the communities they work and live in. Together we are powerful.
And so, my focus as President in 2021 will very much be to increase the power of this great team of Edmonton Area REALTORS®, spreading the word about the opportunities to get involved with our WE CARE program, or to give back with their time. I’m thankful to be given the chance to serve RCF in this way, and hope I can connect with many of you in the year ahead!
